KILKEA F5595

An exuberant array of flowers and leaves reminiscent of a Victorian hothouse, printed on linen union. Kilkea Castle was built in 1180 by Hugh de Lacy and is the oldest inhabited house in Ireland. Legend claims the castle to be haunted by Gerald ‘The Wizard Earl’ whose ghost rises every seven years to free Ireland from its enemies.
