'The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat....'


BoConcept gave 11 designers their iconic 'Imola' chair to redesign and to then be auctioned on 19th September at the BoConcept showroom in Tottenham Court Road, London. All proceeds from the auction were donated to Kids Company, a charity that Nina supports.

The theme to guide the designers was 'Sit Less, Play More'; the designers were told that they could do absolutely anything they wanted with the chair, the more weird and wonderful the design the better!





Nina Campbell came up with the idea of 'The Owl & The Pussycat' by Edward Lear and decided to change the chair into a boat, upholstering it in fabrics from Nina Campbell fabric collections. KINTAIL and CAWDOR from the ROSSLYN collection have been used to upholster the beautiful pea green boat; the Owl and the Pussycat are made using fabrics from BRODIE WEAVES. Other items in the boat are a runciple spoon, a slice of quince, guitar, a honeypot and a £5 note. The sails are made using  BICTON & FAIRFIELD, and CAWDOR was used for the boats small flag.

The owl, pussycat, spoon, slice of quince, honeypot, £5 note, sails & flag were all made by the Nina Campbell studio.
